Getting your game ready?
Have a mechanic to test?

I help with game projects: investigate Unity performance issues, test gameplay ideas and turn prototypes built with AI into playable builds.

One defined problem. Clear deliverables. Direct work with a senior engineer.

Five ways I can help your game

What does your game need next?

Choose the situation closest to yours. We agree what will be checked or built, how the result will be verified, and what you will receive before work starts.

01 / Unity · game performance

Get your Unity project ready for release

Your game stutters, loads slowly or behaves differently on target devices. Your team needs to know what to fix first.

  • Investigate one performance issue or release blocker
  • Profile one build on agreed target hardware
  • Review the relevant code and walk through findings with your team
What you get

Measurements, a prioritised fix plan and a recommendation for the next release.

Scope: Diagnostic review. Implementation and additional devices are quoted separately.

02 / Gameplay prototypes

Test a game idea before committing to production

You have a game idea or an unusual mechanic. Try it in a playable prototype before committing to the full project or a client deadline.

  • Build a playable prototype around one core mechanic
  • Agree the controls, gameplay scenario and target platform
  • Check technical constraints and identify the next development steps
What you get

Prototype source code, a playable build and a walkthrough of what works and what needs further development.

Scope: One agreed mechanic. Content production, additional features and a full game release are separate scopes.

03 / Core gameplay + metagame

Build a game prototype with metagame systems

Need to test how playing, earning rewards and upgrading fit together? I can build a prototype that connects the core mechanic with progression between sessions.

  • Build one core gameplay loop and connect it to the metagame
  • Add agreed systems such as progression, upgrades, rewards or unlocks
  • Create the supporting screens and save player progress
What you get

A playable prototype with a connected gameplay and progression loop, source code and a setup guide for playtesting and further development.

Scope: We agree the mechanic, metagame systems, amount of content and target platform before starting. Final art, monetisation and store submission are separate tasks.

04 / Game prototypes built with AI

Finish and launch your game prototype

Built a game prototype with AI but got stuck on errors, builds or launch? I can review the code, identify the work needed and help get it running on your chosen platform.

  • Review the project, its dependencies and the main gameplay loop
  • Fix agreed code issues and build errors
  • Prepare a playable build and verify it on the agreed platform
What you get

Updated source code, a playable build for the agreed scope and instructions for running and building it.

Scope: Start with a project review, then agree the fixes and target platform. Store submission and further game development are scoped separately.

05 / Game builds & releases

Every release takes too much manual work

Builds depend on one developer’s machine. Preparing versions takes hours, and small mistakes keep coming back.

  • Map one game build and delivery workflow
  • Automate agreed repeat steps and add practical checks
  • Verify that a teammate can repeat the process
What you get

A repeatable build or delivery workflow, a handover guide and a before-and-after comparison.

Scope: Implementation for one agreed workflow. Platforms, access and acceptance criteria are scoped first.

R&D / EXPERIMENTS

Ideas you can play.

UNITY / WEBGL

Independent game prototypes: the mechanic behind each experiment, what was built and what was learned. Launch a build to try it yourself.

[ LAB / 00 ]

The lab is taking shape.

Independent gameplay experiments will appear here as they are ready to share.

Senior engineering, without the overhead

A small engagement.
A useful answer.

  1. 01
    Describe the constraint

Tell me about your game, the engine, target platform, current problem and any launch date.

  2. 02
    Agree the scope

Agree the deliverables, access, representative test cases, fee and acceptance criteria.

  3. 03
    Get evidence and a handover

Receive the agreed findings, source code, playable build or build workflow, with a walkthrough and clear next steps.

Built on delivery experience.

The practice is led by an engineer with 15+ years in mobile software and games, including hands-on Unity/C# development, technical leadership, architecture, CI/CD and app-store releases.

My services focus on game projects: Unity performance, gameplay prototypes, build workflows and help with game code written using AI.

The full professional background is shared privately during initial contact. Client names, employer details and internal project material are not published here.

Before you commit

Questions worth asking.

Do you review the code or also finish the prototype?

Both are possible. For a game prototype built with AI, I first review the project and then agree the fixes and playable build to deliver. The Unity performance review provides findings and a fix plan; implementation can be agreed separately.

What do you need to start?

A short description of the game, its engine, target platform and the problem you want to solve. Screenshots or a gameplay video help with the first discussion. Source code and project access are arranged separately.

Will the prototype become a complete game?

We agree what should work in the playable build: the core mechanic, required fixes and target platform. Additional levels, art, features and store submission are separate tasks.

Can you help an agency deliver a game project?

Yes. I can prototype a game mechanic before you commit to a client, investigate a Unity issue or help with game builds and delivery. Your team receives the agreed files and a direct handover.

How is this different from a single-mechanic prototype?

A single-mechanic prototype lets you try the core gameplay. A prototype with metagame systems also connects sessions through progression, rewards or upgrades, with the necessary screens and saved progress. We choose the systems your game needs before starting.
